Organic Fukamushi Sencha
Deep Steamed Japanese Green Tea
Organic Certified by JAS/OCIA/USDA
Organic Fukamishi (Deep Stamed) Sencha tea leaves possess a wonderful fragrance upon opening the package. The first infusion brings forth a deeply rich colored liquid that that offers a very well rounded, smooth, mellow and rich taste.
One cupful invariably leads to another along with thoughtful contemplation of the tea's complex nature. A light astringency slightly increases as the liquid cools. The second steeping produces a little darker liquid that tastes much the same as the first, but is slightly sweeter.
This organic green tea from the Chiran area richly deserves to be tasted by one and all as a true example of Japanese green tea at its finest. Our Premium Deep Steamed Organic Sencha has been produced according to the strict guidelines of the JAS (Japan Agricultural Standard) and USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) and is certified organic.
Brewing Suggestions:
1.) First Infusion: Add 1 gram of tea per 100 ml of fresh water, or about one tablespoon per potful. Heat the water to 80C (180F) and brew for one minute.
2.) Second Infusion: Brew with the same temperature water as the first infusion but for only a few seconds. Please note that the caffeine content of green tea becomes significantly less after the first steeping.
